CHRISTIAN ALDO ART

Steadfast and furious, Christian Aldo creates compelling artwork across a variety of medium. Specializing in bas-relief, Christian's approach to painting and sculpting is equally visually stimulating as it is tangible. Heavily influenced and inspired by toys and eroticism, Christian's approach to his work is honest, bold and uninhibited.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Christian spent his early development years exploring military history, film and exotic toys. At the ripe age of 20 Christian moved to Vancouver to attend the Emily Carr College of Art and Design but soon realized that formal education was not for him. From there Christian opted to take on an independent approach and began infiltrating the Vancouver art scene. Soon after the self-taught and determined, young artist re-directed his focus to the competitive art world of New York City. Fulfilling a life long dream, Christian achieved exposure within some of New York's most celebrated, independent galleries where his work was passionately received.

In 1998 Christian returned to his hometown of Windsor with a mission to ignite a new flame within the art community and introduced several new projects to the area. During this time, Christian executed a slew of regional art shows, produced, directed and wrote the highly acclaimed cable TV series, Ten Dollar Tales and launched the retro designer toy line, The Super Wonder Force. Most notably, Christian opened and curated 3 galleries including Detroit's Gross Point, Maniscalco Gallery, the Park Street Gallery and the Pelissier Street Gallery.

Christian has now relocated to Toronto, Canada and is currently working on a slew of exciting new projects. The year 2010 is shaping up to be an exciting one for Christian Aldo as he continues to tap into new found inspiration and unveils his latest artistic adventures.
